The Riverside Church

I've helped organize a hundreds of rallies, direct actions, and mobilizations over the last 10 years. As an undergraduate I support the walk outs of students in protest to tuition increases. At the Riverside Church in New York City I helped coordinate logistics for the organizing coalitions of #OccupyWallStreet. I helped mobilize a hundred New Yorkers to The 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington in 2013. In 2014 I provided lodging to hundreds of Texans that were organizing to march in the historic Climate March for our future. I've worked in coalition with hundreds, and mentored dozens.

The Justice League NYC

In January of 2015 I began supporting actions led by The Justice League, an initiative of Harry Belafonte's The Gathering For Justice. I was a rally marshal for #Dream4Justice and began organizing toward a 9 day mobilization under the leaders ship of Carmen Perez, Tamika Mallory and Linda Sarsour. #March2Justice was berthed. A 250 mile Journey from NYC to Washington DC to draw attention to the epidemic of police violence, youth detention and racial profiling that severely impact the conditions of our crippled communities.

In the summer of 2015 Tamika Mallory co-chaired The 20th Anniversary of The Million Man March: #JUSTICEORELSE. As a member of Justice League I helped organize hundreds of families of Police & Gun Violence to Washington DC. Justice or Else was a successful, peaceful convening of a million people.

Current Work & Independent Consulting

In January of 2016 I joined The New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC) as their Immigration Campaign Manager. In April of 2016 I led the NYIC Mobilization  where 700+ New Yorkers descended on The Supreme Court in Washington D.C. to support President Obama's Deferred Action Programs that would protect 5 million immigrants from unjust deportations.

I now take opportunities to amplify the call to action when ever possible.  To contact me regarding additional resources and potential collaboration please contact me via email at Carlenempinto@gmail.com.
